Cristina Somolinos Molina

Postdoctoral Researcher

Cristina Somolinos Molina works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Universitat de València. She holds a PhD from the Universidad de Alcalá, with a dissertation on representations of working women in contemporary Spanish narrative. She has undertaken predoctoral and postdoctoral research stays at the Università degli Studi di Bergamo, Université Bordeaux-Montaigne, and Universidade Nova de Lisboa, where she continues to collaborate with the Center for the Humanities (CHAM). Her main research interests focus on the relationship between literary discourses and social processes, particularly regarding the imaginaries of working women in Spanish literature and representations of repression processes involving women in the Iberian context of the 20th and 21st centuries.

 

She is the author of the monograph Rojas las manos. Mujeres trabajadoras en la narrativa española contemporánea (2022, Comares), editor of Narrar la grieta. Isaac Rosa y los imaginarios emancipadores en la España actual (2023, Iberoamericana), and co-editor of the collective volume La rendija que queda. En torno a la narrativa de Sara Mesa (2024, Comares), alongside Amélie Florenchie and Isabelle Touton, and of “Las mujeres que cosían y los hombres que fumaban”: voces de mujeres trabajadoras en la España contemporánea (2021, Ediciones de la Universidad de Málaga), together with Rocío Negrete Peña.
