RAFAEL R. TRANCHE
Catedrático de Comunicación Audiovisual
Graduate and Doctor from the Complutense University of Madrid. Professor of Audiovisual Communication at the UCM, where he has taught audiovisual production, film direction and film history.
He has been a visiting professor at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, the San Antonio de los Baños Film School (Cuba) and Paris-Sorbonne, among other places.
He has also worked as a television producer (Telemadrid, Channel of the Congress of Deputies), film programmer (Madrid City Council), documentary filmmaker (Filmoteca Española) and exhibition curator (Casa de Velázquez, Filmoteca Española).
His main investigations have focused on cinema posters, television history, documentary cinema, the work of José Val del Omar, the historical archive NO-DO, the role of images in the Spanish Civil War and photography during the Spanish transition. In addition, he has maintained a continuous social activism of which his presence in the Executive Council of the extinct Chair of Historical Memory of the 20th century, articles of opinion for El País or his latest book La máscara sobre la realidad. La información en la era digital (Alianza Ed., 2019).
